You guys are like sons I never raised. If I had, you'd have gone bananas by now. Nag, nag, nag...Keep your mind open; don't say "can't;" speak your own words; listen to your inner self, it's being honest; bend to no one; don't kiss anyone's ass, in no way are they "better" than you; always question; don't acquire tunnel vision; don't fall when others push - stand back and let them fall on their own faces; show respect to those who deserve it and kindness to those who need it; realize you're not always right, apologizing shows strength, not submission; humor can be a deterrent; ask; wonder; seek; share; be... Stay who you are, but make sure it's 'you' and not what is expected of you or feeds your ego. Kelsey taught us that at least. Her friends, her way of dressing, her sense of humor, her music, her way of questioning authority, her lack of fear of being different -and much more - is what makes us love her still. As I've said, she didn't want to die; she wanted to 'live.' She's now living through us. You've been wonderful friends to Kelsey. I love you guys - truly I do. (Okay, enough mush. Get back to living!)
Not going anywhere
Once again I thank everyone for caring about Kelsey and her art. Of course I'll keep her DA account up. I'll be visiting often, too, so if you want to ask me or tell me anything, I'm here. Kels and I were also best friends, we were of like minds in many ways. From what she shared with me, I doubt she held back on anything! But I hope she did; we all need to keep something of ourselves to ourselves, right?
Thanks
Thank you, everyone, for your condolences. I'll keep her DA account up for now, I guess.
It hurts so much
It hurts to have to tell you all that Kelsey took her own life September 20, 2014. She was 23.
You can read her obituary and view her tribute video here:

You all made a wonderful difference in her life. She asked me to let you know she hated to say good-bye to such beautiful friends. Thank you all for bringing her smiles and friendship.
Her mother and friend,
Deborah Berens

Oh look, since I'm not premium anymore, I don't get rad shiny journal skins. Can I get a what-what for mediocrity?
